How to · for round table officers and program chairs
Updating a Round Table calendar
A season of meetings in one sitting: the practical routine for a program chair.
- Sign in to the portal and open your Round Table. Check that the meeting place and schedule on the profile are right (for example "Second Tuesday, 7 p.m., September through May, at the public library"). Correct them and press Save profile.
- For each meeting in the season, press Add an event. Give the date, the speaker, and the topic. The meeting place is already filled in. Press Save and go on to the next one.
- Add any special events — a field trip, the annual dinner, a joint meeting with a neighbouring Round Table — the same way.
- When the season changes, or a speaker changes, open the event and send the edit. If a meeting is cancelled by weather, press Ask to cancel on that event and say why; an editor approves it, usually the same day, and visitors and the main calendar then see the change.
- Once a year, when you receive our confirmation email, confirm that the listing is still current. That keeps your Round Table's verification label at Current Events Confirmed.
Worth knowing
- Events waiting for an editor show as "Sent for review" in your portal. Approval usually takes a few days.
- If you would rather send us the season's programme as a document, email it to info@historicalpublicationsllc.com and we will enter it.
