In the spring of 1863, as the Army of the Potomac braced for what would become the Chancellorsville Campaign, Salem Church and the fields west of Fredericksburg played a crucial yet underappreciated role. The main Union army, beset by uncertainty and relentless Confederate attacks, found itself struggling to coordinate its scattered corps.

The 69th NY State Volunteers (the Irish Brigade) will host our final Regional Skirmish of the 2026 season. Members will compete in various individual and team matches using Civil War-era original and reproduction firearms. Free and open to the public for spectating.
