About this event

As part of the National Park Service’s America 250 commemoration—and in celebration of National Public Lands Day —we’re excited to welcome the Cumberland Winds Brass Quintet back to Fort Donelson. The group will share a program of Civil War–period music, offering a chance to experience the kinds of sounds soldiers and civilians knew well during the 1860s. Along with these historic pieces, the ensemble will also perform selections from their standard brass repertoire. This is a relaxed, family-friendly evening program in one of the park’s most scenic settings. If you’ve been looking for a great reason to enjoy a fall evening at the river batteries, this is it. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs to make the most of this outdoor event. We look forward to seeing you at Fort Donelson for an evening of music, history, and community.
